Cookie policy

This page explains how Whispering Woods uses cookies on whisperingwoods.uk. It sits alongside our privacy policy, which covers your personal information more broadly.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — such as what is in your basket — and help keep the site secure. Similar technologies, like local storage in your browser, do much the same job, and we mean those too whenever we say “cookies” here.
The cookies we use
We keep these to a minimum, and use them only to make the shop work and keep it safe:
- Your basket and session. So the things you add stay in your basket, and so a trade account stays signed in while you browse. Without these the shop cannot function.
- Security and delivery. The site is served and protected by Cloudflare, which sets cookies to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic and to keep the site running smoothly. These are essential.
- Payment. When you check out, our payment provider, Stripe, sets cookies to process your payment securely and help prevent fraud. These are only involved at checkout.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data or let anyone track you across other websites. If we ever add analytics to understand how the shop is used, we will update this page first.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings — every browser lets you block them or clear the ones already stored. Do note that blocking the essential cookies above will stop the basket and checkout from working, so you may not be able to place an order.
Guides for the common browsers are easy to find under each browser’s “cookies” or “privacy” settings.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use cookies, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
